Akaego Okoye is a dual qualified lawyer and business strategy expert, with over 20 years of experience spanning multiple sectors and jurisdictions, she is a trusted business leader sought after to facilitate effective stakeholder engagements and drive trade and investment into Africa.

Akaego was Head Legal and Corporate Affair at EAN Aviation where she played a leading role in establishing the first private jet terminal and aircraft maintenance facility in Nigeria. Throughout her career, she has held various impactful leadership roles, from global law firm DLA Piper LLP to the leading US-Africa business association, Corporate Council on Africa in Washington DC.

Passionate about promoting female entrepreneurship, Akaego is the host of the podcast Africa Business Stories, elevating the voices and experiences of female entrepreneurs building and running businesses in Africa. She is a professional conference moderator and actively serves on multiple boards, including 1952 Africa, advocating for inclusive growth and the promotion of African art and culture.

Akaego is a qualified lawyer in the UK and Nigeria, holding an LLB in Law from the University of Kent and an LLM in Commercial and Corporate Law from University College London.
